Arthroscopy is a surgical procedure that involves utilising tube-like viewing equipment called an arthroscopy to inspect the interior structure of a joint for diagnosis and/or treatment. Arthroscopy became popular in the 1960s with the introduction of fibrotic technologies, and it is currently used all over the world. It is usually done in an outpatient setting by orthopaedic surgeons. Patients can usually return home the same day as the procedure if it is done in an outpatient environment
